Presenting the Random Acts Giving-Tower-Kindness-Crusade Challenge!

The holidays are just around the corner and here at Random Acts we’re hoping you’ll help us celebrate the only way we know how — by getting kind!

In the spirit of the season, we’re embarking on an exciting crusade that all sock monkey hat-wearers, kindness-superheroes, and charitable ninjas can take part in alongside us. Beginning today, we will be taking part in the 2014 CrowdRise Giving Tower Holiday Challenge, a friendly fundraising competition launched by craigconnects, Fred and Joanne Wilson and MacAndrews & Forbes. In a push to give back to those around them and promote #GivingTuesday, they will be donating $250,000 to various charitable organizations throughout the Challenge.

So how can you help Random Acts win a share of that generosity? It’s simple:

From November 25th through December 2nd (#GivingTuesday), we will be accepting donations of any amount to our CrowdRise page here. For every donation made, a virtual brick will be laid on the CrowdRise Giving Tower; all together, each charity and its donors will be supporting one another’s efforts to help build that virtual tower as high as it will go — to the tip-top of the Empire State Building, the clouds, the moon, and beyond (we’re hoping to make it at least to Saturn).

Following #GivingTuesday, the general Holiday Challenge will remain open until January 6th, 2015; throughout this period, supporters can continue to donate to the Random Acts CrowdRise page and will have the opportunity to help us gain some extra special prizes (including monetary prizes, donation matching, etc) during weekly “bonus challenges”.

After January 6th, the charity with the highest fundraising total will receive a $100,000 donation from Fred and Joanne Wilson and MacAndrews & Forbes to their cause. Second place will win $50,000, third $25,000, fourth $10,000 and fifth place will receive a $5,000 donation to their cause.

Starting today, you can join the team and help us fundraise while enjoying some holiday revelry and a little old fashioned competition. Your donation can be large or small — even $10 can go towards purchasing a new winter hat for a displaced community member or buying a few meals for a child who needs it. We hope you’ll take part in our efforts to #GetKind and to change the world one random act of kindness at a time.

Let’s show them how it’s done!

P.S. Wondering why Sergei Sergeiovich, our #E4K trainer, is chasing his faithful sidekick, E4K9? Sign up for our mailing list and find out how they’ll both be “helping” us this holiday season!

Make sure to stop by our CrowdRise Giving Tower page and donate if you can! The challenge is open from today until January 6th. If you can’t donate, we’d still love your assistance in spreading the word to friends, family, co-workers by using the hashtag #RAKindnessCrusade in your related social media posts. Keep an eye on our channels for updates as the weeks progress — we hope you’ll join us!
