Kindness in the Capital!

Random Acts is pleased to announce our participation at the Salute to Supernatural convention in Arlington, Virginia May 2-4, 2014.  Stop by our table for some cool activities, to meet up with fellow abnosome kindness actors, and some other fun stuff!

For this convention, Random Acts is partnering with SOME (So Others Might Eat), based in Washington, DC.  An interfaith group, SOME offers a holistic, comprehensive set of services to the extremely poor in their area.

1,000 meals are served each day in SOME’s dining room and through other programs; the organization also offers comprehensive programs to meet the needs of the poor and homeless of the District of Columbia.  These programs are three-fold:  emergency, rebuilding, and stability, with the goal of moving the men, women and children served from needing emergency care to self-sufficiency.

How can you help?  Convention attendees can bring all kinds of donations with them to be part of Random Acts’ efforts to help:  SOME is looking for some specific items from Convention attendees:

  • non-perishables (bulk & individual)
  • nutrition bars
  • cereal
  • pasta
  • pasta sauce
  • macaroni & cheese
  • rice
  • beans
  • cooking oil
