Help Random Acts #GetKind at DallasCon!

VickeryMeadowIt’s time for another round of convention fever! Make sure your seat-belts and trench coats are tightly fastened, because Random Acts is at it again….

This coming weekend, September 19th through the 21st, we will be in attendance at Creation Entertainment’s Salute to Supernatural, Dallas, collecting non-perishable food items for the Vickery Meadow Food Pantry, and we’re challenging you to help us #GetKind.

Established in 2009, The Vickery Meadow Neighborhood Alliance Food Pantry provides supplemental food to the low income, largely refugee and immigrant families living in the Vickery Meadow neighborhood of Dallas, Texas. The food pantry serves approximately 400 families and around 2,000 individuals per month, nearly half of whom are under the age of 17. This year alone, they have reported a record number of individuals in need of assistance, many belonging to family groups of more than four members.

As with many of our previous partnerships, we ask that you bring along an item or two (or three… or five) to donate. While Vickery Meadow accepts most non-perishable food items, they are currently most in need of peanut butter.

Random Acts staffers Jennifer and Melanie will have a table set up to collect your donations from Friday morning until Sunday at 1:00 pm and will be available to answer any general questions and inquiries you have (or simply to give hugs as needed). We will also be tweeting updates throughout the weekend, so make sure you’re following us at @RASocialMedia.

We hope that with all of the hubbub of a typical exciting con weekend, you’ll still find time to stop by and visit us — after all, we couldn’t #GetKind without you.

See you there!

(If you’re unable to bring along an item or can’t make it to the convention, don’t fret! To leave a monetary gift or to see how you can help, stop by the Vickery Meadow Food Pantry and Clothes Closet at 8448 Walnut Hill Ln Suite 200, Dallas, TX 75231, or contact them by phone: 214-553-9909.)

**Random Acts will be collecting items starting the morning of Friday 9/19/14 through Sunday 9/21/14 until 1:00 pm.**
