For the past few years, Random Acts has had the opportunity to establish a larger presence on the official Supernatural convention circuit, thanks to the generosity of our friends at Creation Entertainment. From providing Random Acts with a venue in which we could hold a variety of kindness activities to ensuring we had the necessary space to host various donation drives for local nonprofits, the Creation staff has been there to support us from our early days. More recently, Creation gave us the opportunity to host our five year anniversary celebration during the traditional Friday night convention karaoke party at NJCon, and subsequently donated the proceeds from a few special photo ops and auctions directly to our organization. Now, with the launch of Creation’s new online store, Creation Stands, the entertainment company has found one more way to give back (and we’re eternally grateful)!
Over on the Creation Stands website, you can purchase any number of Supernatural tees, totes, and everything in between — even better, a portion of the profits from those items benefits charities chosen by the actors themselves. Thanks to the thoughtfulness of the Creation staff, our intrepid leader Misha, and dear friend and supporter Osric Chau, Random Acts was one of the nonprofits lucky enough to be included on that coveted roster of amazing charities.
Still, Random Acts is just one of many commendable organizations on that list. When you purchase your favorite Chuck Shurley tee, for example, a portion of the sale is donated to Rob Benedict’s charity pick Heart & Stroke Foundation — a nonprofit that works to prevent disease, save lives and promote recovery for those with heart conditions or those who have suffered a stroke.
Can’t live without your Winchester Brothers calendar? Good news: Purchasing the calendar on the Creation Stands site not only makes your wall look good, it benefits Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki’s Pack Fund — a donor advised fund that distributes proceeds to various charitable concerns that are important to both Jensen, Jared, and their fans, including To Write Love on Her Arms, The Down Syndrome Connection, St. Jude’s, Wounded Warriors, Random Acts and a number of other incredible organizations.
Want to make sure that a portion of the proceeds from that awesome new Trickster tee you just bought go toward helping disabled veterans? Creation and Richard Speight, Jr. have partnered to ensure that those funds make their way to Disabled American Veterans (DAV) an extraordinary organization which helps to provide support for the men and women returning home after having served nobly in the armed forces.
Looking to help children with diabetes? There’s a cause for that too! Mark Sheppard’s charity pick, Camp Conrad Chinnock, allows children with diabetes to have a positive camping experience and demonstrates to everyone that those same children are capable of participating in the same activities considered only possible for children without diabetes. Go ahead, grab a few Crowley tees on Mark’s Creation Stands page and feel good about your purchases.
If you’re on a mission to help survivors of breast cancer, purchasing a witty Rowena tee from Ruth Connell’s Creation Stands page will benefit Ruth’s favorite nonprofit, My Hope Chest, a national breast reconstruction organization working to help uninsured and under insured women heal completely. Guaranteed to give you plenty of warm fuzzy feelings.
If you want to support Random Acts directly, you can always pick your favorite Supernatural tote, poster, tee, or mug from Osric and Misha’s page. Feeling jolly already? Quick! Snag one of Osric’s “Proud to be Unique” holiday shirts (seen at the top of this page) before they leave the store on Tuesday night!
Thanks to the kindness and generosity of the Supernatural cast and Creation Entertainment, you can spread a little love to a host of amazing nonprofits while still treating yourself to your favorite swag. Win-win, right?
